Permanent installation, 2004–ongoing
The Loop, the first wheelchair ramp installed in a Belgrade gallery, bridged
exclusion and inclusion in art. Left in place for four years, it silently participated
in every exhibition that followed.
Later reused in the performance For the Status, the ramp became a tool for
meeting official freelance renewal requirements with a single ironic gesture. The
work exposes how institutions force artists through repetitive loops of bureaucratic
legitimacy — where access, visibility, and survival are conditioned by compliance.
What began as a practical intervention evolved into a performative critique: a
structure meant to enable access becomes a measure of institutional tolerance, while
the artist is required to perform legitimacy in order to remain visible.
